Javed Akhtar was asked a question on the issue of the Common Civil Code in an interview given to Dainik Bhaskar, on which Javed gave such an answer which has gone against his own religion and people of his own religion have surrounded him. In fact, a book based on the life of Javed Akhtar has come onto the market called Jadoonama. When Dainik Bhaskar’s senior journalist asked Javed Akhtar a question on the Common Civil Code Bill, Javed took the Muslim Personal Law Board under siege while answering the question.

Javed Akhtar said, “Muslim personal law allows having more than one wife. This is against equality. Having more than one wife is not equality, and neither allows a woman to have more than one husband. Then there is equality.

According to the news of Dainik Bhaskar, Javed Akhtar further said that if someone wants to maintain his traditions, he can keep them but no compromise with the constitution will be tolerated.

Javed Akhtar further said – “I will give equal property to my son and daughter. Referring to the Muslim Personal Law Board, he said, “According to the Muslim Personal Law Board, if a divorce takes place, the husband is not even bound to pay maintenance to the wife after 4 months. this is wrong.

Further, Javed Akhtar told Dainik Bhaskar, “The draft of the Common Civil Code should come first. In a country as large and diverse as India, can there be one law? This is a matter of debate. If someone has personal law, so be it, but if I have to choose between personal law and the Constitution, I will keep the Constitution ahead.

After the statement made on the Muslim Personal Law Board, Saif Abbas Naqvi, President of the All India Shia Chand Committee, while expressing objection, termed Javed Akhtar’s statement as shameful.

He has said that women have been advised to have multiple husbands. No matter how much it is opposed, it is less. He says, there are some people in India who want to remain a part of the happiness by making such statements.

He said that Javed Akhtar should apologize to the women of the whole country. They have attacked the culture of our country. Such advice deserves condemnation.
