On the other hand, in this web series ‘Kalkoot,’ the system made for our protection has been called which has been corrupted by the wicked.
Yes, you got it right. In this web series of eight episodes, the story of a tired system has been shown. Although the story is outstanding, the question arises, should we watch this web series made on a corrupt system except for comedy and light films? Please read our review.
About Kaalkoot Web Series
This web series shows a glimpse of the tired system through two characters in eight episodes. The first episode begins with Parul (Shweta Tripathi) getting acid attacked.
Then we meet sub-inspector Ravi Shankar Tripathi (Vijay Varma), who doesn’t like the heat that comes with the uniform. He wants to resign after doing a police job for three months. But, the problem is that his seniors are not accepting his resignation, and his mother is behind him in raising the marriage slogan. Troubled by home and job, Ravi Shankar Tripathi is assigned Parul’s case to bother him further.
Now fighting with the corrupt system, the pressure of marriage, and hundreds of questions arising in his mind, Sub Inspector Ravi Shankar Tripathi is waiting for justice to solve the case of Acid Attack Victim Parul or not that’s the story.
After reading the synopsis, this story seems very emotional and heart-wrenching. But, before starting the series, you must read about its merits and demerits.
Its actors are the life of web series.
The story of the web series is outstanding. Arunabh Kumar and Sumit Saxena have woven the incidents of everyday life perfectly and poignantly into the story. Vijay Verma’s facial expressions breathe life into Ravi Shankar Tripathi’s character.
As such, Seema Biswas, Sujana Mukherjee, Yashpal Sharma, Gopal Dutt, and Shweta Tripathi Sharma. all have done brilliant acting. But Vijay Verma has used his magic to make the person in front believe he is distraught with his life. His simplicity and his way of speaking make every dialogue he utters wonderful.
‘Kalkoot’ looks like a fun and solid web series till the first five episodes. But then, Arunabh Kumar and Sumit Saxena get entangled in their own story. In eight episodes, he goes off track in the reality of the corrupt system while giving evidence of corruption.
This is why many things seem unnecessary by the end of the episode. All of you must have seen Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar’ or Ajay Devgan’s ‘Raid.’ The remarkable thing about both these films was that an issue was raised in them, which was resolved by finding a solution.
But, issues like patriarchy, character assassination of women, and casual sexism were discussed in ‘Kalkoot.’ However, he was not treated.
Watch or Not
If you want to watch a pure web series based on Vijay Verma’s acting and real-life problems, then you can watch ‘Kaalkoot.’ But, if you expect a story like ‘Gabbar’ and ‘Raid,’ its climax may disappoint you.
This is a simple and realistic web series because no hero in it goes against the system that has been running for years and tries to reform it.
