Rinku Singh, who grabbed headlines by leading Kolkata Knight Riders to five consecutive sixes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Now he is all set to make mark for the Indian team for the upcoming tour of Ireland and for the Hangzhou Asian Games. 

“Of course, my parents, brothers, my childhood coach (Masood Amini), all are happy,” said Rinku, who delivered LPG cylinders to homes and hotels along with his brothers and father Khanchand during his teenage. 

Papa doesn’t listen to me.

After playing three seasons in IPL and some first-class cricket, Rinku has built a new house where the family lives together. However, Rinku said that her father did not accede to her request to rest. 

He said, ‘I told Papa that you can rest now, but he still goes to deliver cylinders. He still loves that job. On one level, I understand them too. If he starts relaxing at home, he will get bored immediately. If someone has worked all his life, it is difficult to ask him to stop unless he wants to.

Hostel being built for poor children.

Rinku wants to give something back to the game and is building a small hostel near the ground in Aligarh. The hostel will have the facility to accommodate at least 15 boys from underprivileged sections, where they will pursue their game under the guidance of coach Amini. 

Rinku said, ‘I am building a hostel and a cricket ground near it, and it will be easy for the children. A person like my elder brother told me to do some planning for these kids.
